I’m Tammy, final-year Marketing and Communications student at the National University of Singapore (NUS), with a strong interest I’m interested in digital marketing and business development roles in the technology, sustainability and healthcare industries :-) I’ve amassed diverse knowledge and experience across social media content creation, copywriting, account management, public relations and more. Read on to learn more about me and view my previous creative work samples!

Social Media

Through my internships, coursework and personal projects, I’ve built up skills and experience in social media content creation. I have extensive experience in content strategy and copywriting, and some expertise in graphic design and video editing/videography!

Softwares I am proficient at include Canva, the Adobe Creative suite (mainly Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro) and Capcut 🙂 I am still learning however, and welcome any challenge and opportunity to improve my skills.

Internships

copywriting, content strategy and (some) graphic design & video editing:

Terrascope Marketing and Communications Internship (May – Aug 2023)

At Terrascope, I built up and executed the company’s LinkedIn content strategy from scratch. I worked closely with the sustainability and product teams, as well as an external agency, to strategise and create LinkedIn content to grow Terrascope’s brand presence. In the midst of doing in-depth research about climatetech, I grew to become passionate about sustainability as well.

Though my main scope of responsibilities lay in ideation, copywriting and strategy, I also had the chance to design some of my own creatives:

Terrascope 1-year anniversary video

In commemoration of Terrascope’s 1-year anniversary, I filmed and put together a tribute video from various Terrascope events, using Capcut. Click here to view the LinkedIn post and video!

Employee Spotlight

I also kickstarted and oversaw Employee Spotlight, an interview series aiming to tell the personal stories of Terrascope employees. Click here to view one example of a post.

And here are some of the other cool LinkedIn posts I had the chance to work on, click on the links to read them:

REFASH Marketing Internship (Jan – May 2023)

In this internship, one of my biggest roles was to conceptualise and develop content marketing pieces for LinkedIn, the Company Blog, Lemon8 and occasionally Instagram. Here were some content pieces I worked on:

Lemon8: Flower-themed lookbook

I put together a flower-themed lookbook based on REFASH’s current clothes selection, which was posted on Lemon8. Click here to view the full lookbook (I did both the write-up and graphics for this one, using Canva):

ReFiesta Sponsorship Pitch Deck

Separately, I worked on rebranding and revitalising an increasingly dated REFASH flagship event, ReFiesta. In an effort to restore interest in the event, my team launched an Instagram challenge and established partnerships with influencers and sponsors.

I was responsible for overseeing sponsor pitching and outreach in particular, and managed to secure a total sponsorship value of 20% more than the previous edition of ReFiesta. Here’s a sample of the sponsorship deck my fellow intern Jemima Chan and I put together:

TikTok and Instagram Stories

I also created a few short-form videos to promote REFASH’s products and events. For example, I filmed a video to promote REFASH’s second-hand bag selection for REFASH’s TikTok and Instagram. Click here to watch the full video!

I also filmed 2 videos to promote REFASH’s flagship event ReFiesta, which were posted to REFASH’s Instagram story. Click here to watch them!

I also worked on the captions and writeups for the following posts:

Coursework & Co-curriculars

copywriting, graphic design and video editing:

MKT4761F: Disruption in Marketing (Nov 2024)

This NUS module covered key disruption and innovation trends and how they are shaping the future of marketing.

For our individual assignment, we were tasked to do a short explainer on how a specific brand has harnessed innovation to their advantage. I chose to do a short video (using Capcut and Premiere Pro) analysing Telegram, one of my favourite instant messaging apps. I tried adopting the style of a YouTube explainer/recap video, and I think I succeeded for the most part. Watch the full video here.

NM3230: Digital Storytelling (April 2024)

In this NUS module which covered storytelling techniques and fundamental video production, I worked with my team to produce a 5-min documentary video. Click here to watch Ferticlay: Moulding a Better Future.

We worked with local business Ferticlay – a startup that produces personalised and biodegradable clay products. As Chief Video Editor, I oversaw the storyboarding, sequencing and editing of our raw video clips (using Adobe Premiere Pro) into a quality product.

I’m proud to say that the Ferticlay team was happy with our video and have been using it on their socials and website!

006332: Social Impact Marketing (taken during Exchange semester, Aug 2022)

During my exchange semester at the ESADE University in Barcelona, I took a Social Impact Marketing module where my team was tasked to provide suggestions on how a pet food brand could be more sustainable. My team proposed introducing a product line which used compostable freezer containers as packaging, and I helped design a slide to explain our prototype.

Tembusu College Communications Committee (Oct 2020 – Oct 2021)

As a member of the communications committee at Tembusu College (my university student residence), I conceptualised and created content for our student life Instagram and Telegram channels to build community engagement and spirit. I was mainly in charge of content planning and copywriting, and occasionally created visuals with Canva and Photoshop as well. Here are some of the visuals and captions I worked on:

A big highlight for me in my term was helping to launch an interview series titled “Humans of Tembusu”, which was closely inspired by the Humans of New York series. I took charge of interviewing participants, asking them one thought-provoking question a week. I’m proud to say that the series was well-received by the community and eventually became a flagship content item!

Love Tembusu (Oct 2020 – Oct 2022)

I previously led and was part of Love Tembusu, a mental health advocacy group in Tembusu College. We often held events to promote mental wellbeing and boost students’ peer support skills. Here are some of the posters I created to promote our activities:

Tembusu Dodgeball (Oct 2020 – Oct 2021)

As the Vice-captain and publicity head of the Dodgeball club, I occasionally created short videos to promote the sport and club. Click here to watch a video I created to promote Tembusu Dodgeball at the Student Life Fair 🙂

Volunteer Graphic Designer (2020)

I previously created visuals as part of my volunteer work at the Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics (HOME) – where I volunteered as a graphic designer – and at the Covid Migrant Support Coalition (CMSC) where I helped out as an admin assistant and befriender:
